Privacy Note

A note from the keeper. Suntown asks for more care than a normal login box, so here is the plain version of what the town keeps.

What Suntown Keeps

Suntown keeps the things needed to run a small moderated room:

• Your handle, private contact email, password hash, and new-device phrase prompt. The password and new-device phrase themselves are not stored as plain text.
• Your application answers, payment-comfort answer, optional country or region, and optional gender answer.
• Posts, replies, profile text, diary entries, friendship requests, reports, and moderation notes.
• Notification settings and push notification details if you turn those on, including the push endpoint, push keys, and browser user-agent string.
• Payment or subscription status if Supporter Seats are enabled. Payment card details stay with the payment provider.

Suntown also uses login cookies, trusted-device cookies, timestamps, and hashed rate-limit keys based partly on requester address so the town can stay signed in, remember trusted devices, and slow down abuse. Hosting providers may keep their own request logs.

Why It Is Kept

• To review applications and let approved people enter.
• To show your writing to the people it is meant for inside Suntown.
• To run profiles, diaries, friendship requests, notifications, moderation, and account recovery.
• To notice abuse, spam, scraping, ban evasion, or unsafe behavior.
• To understand the early town in aggregate, like time zones, countries or regions, payment ability, and optional demographic balance.

Who Can See What

Member writing and profiles are for the town experience, not public search. Application answers, private email, optional country or region, optional gender answer, reports, and moderation notes are only for the operator/admin side of the town.

Sharing

Suntown does not sell personal information. It uses service providers for things like hosting, database, email, push notifications, security, and payments. Information may also be shared if required by law or needed to protect the town.

AI

Suntown does not allow AI-written posts and does not currently sell member writing or intentionally hand it to third parties for AI model training.

Leaving

You can ask to close or delete your account. Some records may stay where they are needed for safety, abuse prevention, legal reasons, payment records, backups, or moderation history.

Your Choices

You can skip optional country/region and gender answers, change notification settings, turn off browser notifications, and edit or delete your own posts and replies where Suntown gives you controls.

Age

Suntown is for people 18 and up. It is not meant for children.
